Terms of use

Last updated: 7 August 2026.

These terms apply when you use the BorderKit website or private workspace app. BorderKit is provided by Jak Osborne, trading as BorderKit. Contact support@borderkit.com if you have a question about these terms.

Who may use BorderKit

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. BorderKit is not directed at children under 13. If the law where you live requires a parent or guardian to consent before you can use an online service, you must have that consent.

You must provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in details secure, and tell us promptly if you believe somebody else has accessed your account.

What BorderKit provides

BorderKit helps you organise gear, reusable kits and real events. It is a planning tool, not professional safety, medical, legal or financial advice. You remain responsible for checking your equipment, route, conditions, training and other real-world requirements.

The workspace is designed to keep working offline. Synchronisation may be delayed when a device is offline or reconnecting. Use the data-export feature when you need a portable copy of your workspace.

Your content

You retain ownership of the names, notes, lists and other content you add to your private workspace. You give BorderKit the limited permission needed to store, process, synchronise, back up and display that content so the service can operate.

Do not use BorderKit to store or share content that is unlawful, infringes another person's rights, attempts to compromise the service, or causes harm. Your workspace is private by default; BorderKit does not gain permission to publish it merely because you store it in the service.

Privacy and account deletion

The Privacy notice explains how personal data is handled. You can delete your account from Profile in the app. If you no longer have the app, use the public Account deletion route.

Availability and changes

We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may change the service to maintain security, comply with law, fix defects or improve the product. If a material change to these terms affects your rights, we will publish the revised terms and update the date above.

We may restrict or end access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, comply with law, or respond to a material breach of these terms. You may stop using BorderKit and delete your account at any time.

Liability and consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful. Nothing removes mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live. Subject to those protections, BorderKit is not responsible for losses caused by using the app as a substitute for your own safety checks or professional advice.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere, any mandatory protections and courts available to you under local law remain unaffected.

App-store terms may also apply to the copy of the app you obtained through that store. Where store terms and these terms differ, the store terms control only to the extent the store requires.
