What is BorderKit

What is BorderKit?

BorderKit is a gear inventory, reusable kits and events workspace built by one person. It is not the visa product at borderkit.io. Currently a web beta.

The short answer

BorderKit is a gear inventory, reusable kits and events workspace. You catalogue the gear you own, group it into kits built around a purpose, pull those kits into dated events, pack against them, and record a review when the event closes. The review lands back on the record, so the next event starts from evidence rather than memory.

Who makes it

BorderKit is designed, built and run by one person. Feature claims on this site describe the current web beta; anything not built yet sits on the roadmap instead, marked as such.

What it is today

  • A web beta at borderkit.com covering gear, kits, events, packing and review
  • Works offline for the core workflow after sign-in and first load
  • Exports a portable JSON copy of the full inventory
  • Native iOS and Android apps are planned next and are not started

What it is not

There is a separate product called BorderKit at borderkit.io. It handles visa checklists and application paperwork, it is made by someone else, and the two products are unrelated. If you are looking for visa help, that is the one you want. This site, borderkit.com, is the gear preparation workspace.

BorderKit is also not a marketplace, a social network, or an AI list generator. Those exclusions are deliberate; the roadmap explains each one.
